World champion boxer Tyson Fury has called for the government to take action on knife crime after his cousin, 31-year-old Rico Burton, was fatally stabbed in Altrincham over the weekend. He told talkSPORT radio that knife crime is "the most cowardly little s**th**** thing anybody can do", and called on the government to take tougher action on those who carry it out.
This comes on the same day that a 21-year-old man appeared in court charged with Rico's murder. Liam O'Prey, 21, appeared at Manchester Magistrates Court this morning (August 24) to face four counts relating to the incident in Altrincham in the early hours of Sunday (August 21), which tragically left Rico dead and a 17-year-old seriously injured in the Goose Green area.
Tyson, from Wythenshawe, was on talkSPORT with Jim White and Simon Jordan to talk about a potential unification fight with Oleksandr Usyk when the subject of knife crime was raised. The 34-year-old immediately dived into an expletive-laden plea for the government to do more to tackle knife crime, calling those who carry knives and commit crime "cowards".

"Knife crime, the most cowardly little thing s**th**** thing anybody can do, stab somebody," Fury said.
Businessman and presenter Simon Jordan told Fury he "agreed" with him many times during the conversation. Fury continued: "The United Kingdom is supposed to be one of the safest countries in the world, and yet we can't go down the street with a watch on our wrist or anything because we're going to get stabbed.
"The government needs to make this tougher on these little cowards who carry knives and weapons."
