Police have amped up stop and search powers in Altrincham after an 'increased risk of violence' in the area.
It comes as a murder investigation was launched after Rico Burton, 31, was stabbed to death in the town early yesterday morning (Sunday August 21).
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) say the powers are in place to 'keep the public safe' after 'receiving intelligence that there is an increased risk of violence in the areas outlined'.

The additional measures have been in place since 3pm yesterday, and allow police to stop and search people in a defined area. They will stay in place until at least 3am tomorrow [Tuesday] morning, although police warn this could be extended further.
Rico Burton, cousin of boxer Tyson Fury, was killed in the stabbing. Officers and paramedics attended the scene at on Goose Green in the early hours of Sunday morning. He died in hospital a short time later.
A 17 year-old boy was also taken to hospital with what police described as 'serious injuries'. He is said to be in a serious but a non-life threatening condition in hospital today.
A 21-year-old man arrested at the scene remained in custody together with a 20-year-old man who was held later on Sunday. Both men, who haven't been named, are being held on suspicion of murder.
A GMP spokesperson said: "We understand the use of a Section 60 can cause concern, however, we use these powers when receiving intelligence that there is an increased risk of violence in the areas outlined.
"Our priority is to keep the public safe and you will see an increased amount of officers patrolling the area over this week.
