A man was attacked on an Eccles street on Sunday afternoon. Two people, a man and a woman, have since been arrested on suspicion of assault.
A large police cordon was erected outside the Eccles Cross pub, Regent Street, shortly after 4pm, on Sunday (March 27). There was a significant police presence at the scene for over an hour as investigations were carried out.
There was speculation that the incident had first broken out inside the Wetherspoons - however the large pub chain quickly cleared up the facts and confirmed that the assault actually happened outside. However, they did confirm that those involved had been inside the pub earlier in the day.

Police said that a man, aged 29, and woman, 46, were arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. Further information about the nature of the attack has not yet been confirmed by police, but enquiries are ongoing at this time.
The North West Ambulance service also attended the scene but nobody was taken to hospital and there were no serious injuries were reported. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers were called to a report of an male being assaulted just after 4.15pm yesterday (27 March 2022) on Regent Street in Eccles, Salford.
"Emergency services attended and a male, aged 29, and a 46-year-old female were arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information can report it online at www.gmp.police.uk."
