Four teenagers arrested after girl, 15, attacked as she walked her dog

A 15-year-old schoolgirl was viciously attacked by a group of youngsters as she walked her dog. Detectives in Tameside have launched an urgent investigation and four teenagers have been arrested - the youngest a girl aged 13.
Greater Manchester Police said the girl went to hospital after the attack, but fortunately wasn't seriously hurt. The force said she was left 'understandably shaken' and was being supported by her family.
They described the assault as an 'isolated incident', but believe there were several witnesses who saw what happened. They are now being urged to come forward.
The girl was attacked by a group described by police as comprising of 'females and males' as she walked her dog near to Medlock Leisure Centre, off Gardenfold Way, in Droylsden, Tameside, at about 8pm last Saturday, March 26. Police said three girls - aged 13, 15 and 15 - and a 16-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of assault. They are currently being questioned in police custody, the force added in a statement on Wednesday.
Detective Sergeant Helen Jordan, of GMP's Tameside district, said: "The victim had to attend hospital but fortunately was not seriously injured. She was attacked by a group of females and males, and is understandably shaken by the incident, and is being supported by her family and specialist officers.
"We believe this to be an isolated incident but believe it was witnessed by members of the public and would implore anyone with information to report it. Three girls - aged 13, 15 and 15 - and a 16-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of assault and are being questioned in police custody."
