Holidaymakers have been issued a warning over a little known luggage rule that could upset travel plans.
Airlines operate strict rules when it comes to the size of bag you can carry on, with limits varying depending on who you are flying with. Ryanair are particularly strict, with just a small carry on allowed. With this in mind, the viral 'Ryainair travel bag' continues to be a popular purchase online. Restrictions also stipulate the items that can be stored in carry on bags - such as limits on liquids - with various items also banned from being stored in luggage checked in at back drop off.
However, these are not the only rules when it comes to the luggage you take on board. The rules are unknown by many so to prevent you running into issues, here is what each airline says about their current restrictions on bags, reports The Echo.
For safety reasons, the lithium battery/power bank must be disconnected in all cases. If you are unable to remove from luggage, you will not be permitted to take the bag on board.
Smart luggage must also be disconnected if checked in and going in the hold. The lithium battery/power bank must be disconnected at Bag Drop and taken into the cabin with you. Any exposed terminals are required to be protected from short circuit.
