A three-year-old toddler is fighting for his life in hospital after a violent attack by his 12-year-old babysitter.
Noah Brown, 3, is on life support at the Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, after being hit with a belt and smashed against a wall by his babysitter on November 29, reports the Daily Mirror.
The little boy was sedated because of his head injury and has also suffered multiple seizures following the attack.
The tot's grandmother, Candy King, said the babysitter had anger issues and launched the attack because he started to cry while he was caring for him.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department subsequently arrested a twelve-year-old boy over the incident, charging him with aggravated assault, possession of personal weapons, and four counts of battery.
"[The 12-year-old] has anger issues and Noah started to cry," the grandmother said.
"[He] couldn’t handle it so he beat him with a belt and threw him towards the bed and his head hit the bed frame of the bunk bed."
The twelve-year-old then smashed Noah's head onto a wall before he got up, and collapsed under a bed.
His devastated mother Michelle Lane said: "He has had to be placed in life support and has had a part of his skull removed due to the intensity of his injuries."
King elaborated that "The doctor’s are removing the breathing tube and neck brace to see if he can breathe on his own all the way and they stopped the sedation medicine [cause] they want him to wake up fully."
The toddler had Covid at the time of the incident and now has a really long road to recovery ahead of him.
His mother said: "It’s not guaranteed what his quality of life is going to be but we’re praying and hoping for the best that he comes out just fine."
