A tiny south Manchester bakery with a legion of loyal fans has just won a prestigious title. La Chouquette, on Wilmslow Road, opened in December 2020 and was an instant success, with Didsbury locals queueing down the street for their croissants and bread.
La Chouquette has now announced that it has won the title of best Manchester bakery, an award bestowed by this year's England's Business Awards. Sharing an image of their award on Instagram, the bakery said: "Thank you so much to everyone who voted for us.
"Your support was amazing as usual! We are now in the shortlist for the national awards in November.

In another post of the La Chouquette team themselves, collecting their best Manchester bakery award, the business said: "Last weekend, we’ve had the honour to win the regional awards for best bakery in Manchester at the England's Business Awards!
"Thank you so much to everyone who voted for us. Your support was amazing as usual! We also want to thank our team of 22 that makes this possible!"
