Manchester has been named one of the World’s Best Cities in a prestigious report - beating out the likes of Mexico City, Valencia and Bucharest, but missing out on the top spot, which was claimed by London.
Described as the ‘most comprehensive city ranking on the planet’ by Bloomberg, the list measures 270 cities with populations of more than a million around the world, on a number of factors, to come up with the final top 100 cities to live, visit and invest in.

Sales of luxury homes in the city were also abundant, with 605 properties selling for £5m or more in the last year.
In second place on the list was Paris, followed by New York, Tokyo and Singapore. The rest of the top ten was made up of Dubai, San Francisco, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Seoul, which was acknowledged for 'firmly [establishing] itself as a global pop culture powerhouse' thanks
