With the January transfer window now closed, the focus for all Premier League clubs is now solely on the rest of the season.
However, plans will already be in place for the next recruitment drive in the summer.
Manchester City have always backed Pep Guardiola in the transfer market, spending £100 million on Jack Grealish last summer for example.
However, this summer a number of high-profile players are set to become available on free transfers, allowing City to strengthen their squad and keep some money in reserve for one or two marquee signings.
MEN Sport has identified three players out of contract in the summer that City should consider bringing to the club.
Franck Kessie
With Fernandinho set to retire in the summer, the AC Milan midfielder could be the perfect replacement.
Kessie is more of a box-to-box player, as opposed to a holding midfielder but has proven in the past he can play a more disciplined role.
At 25 the Ivory Coast star could be a stalwart in this City side for many years to come, and would provide more of a physical presence and goal threat from midfield than Fernandinho.
Luis Suarez
City are still in need of a striker and, despite the fact he’s 35, Suarez still possesses the quality to be a worthy addition to Guardiola’s side, having played for the City boss' former club in Barcelona.
The Atletico Madrid star wouldn’t be capable of playing week-in week-out, but could prove to be an important squad player for City in their perennial quest for silverware on multiple fronts.
Suarez is still a fantastic finisher and would thrive in this City side surrounded by the likes of Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne and old Liverpool teammate Raheem Sterling. Getting him for free would be quite a coup.
