Alison Hammond was missing from ITV's This Morning today (Friday), with her co-star Josie Gibson filling in for her alongside Dermot O'Leary. Josie, 39, has been at the helm of This Morning throughout the week, hosting alongside Craig Doyle. With Friday marking International Women's Day, Josie and Dermot gave a big shout-out to Alison during her absence from the show.
"Welcome to the show - happy Friday and happy International Women's Day," Josie said as she and Dermot danced to Katy Perry's song 'Last Friday Night'. Josie kicked off by wishing a happy International Women's Day to some special ladies, starting with: "Firstly, I think we have to start with Alison Hammond. So Alison Hammond - happy International Women's day to you." She also celebrated other women from This Morning - including Rochelle Humes, Cat Deeley, and Holly Willoughby - by wishing them a happy IWD.
However, Josie and Dermot did not explain why Alison was missing from the show. Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment on Alison's absence. "Where is Alison today, it's usually her and Dermot?" one viewer wrote.
Meanwhile another viewer said: "Durrrmot and Josie? Really?" Earlier this week, Josie was in the spotlight when she came face-to-face with her ex-I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! campmate, Fred Sirieix.
The pair clashed over cooking in the jungle, which led Fred, 52, to say: "Look, in all fairness, and without blowing my own trumpet, I would have done much better." Fred, who is known for his role on First Dates, appeared on This Morning on Wednesday and Craig Doyle, 53, said the atmosphere between them was a bit tense. "It's so awkward in here at the moment I can't cope.
