Alison Hammond has broken her silence on the recent fuss involving Phillip Schofield and why she didn't become a regular host on This Morning.
After Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were chosen to take over from Schofield and Holly Willoughby, people wondered why Alison wasn't picked.
The much-loved TV star, who is 49 years old, is popular with fans when she presents ITV's daytime show with Dermot O'Leary on Fridays.
Now, she's shared her thoughts on not being asked to host more often reports the Mirror.
Alison is quite busy with other shows like The Great British Bake Off and For The Love of Dogs.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, she explained why she's happy just doing Fridays on This Morning and why she wasn't in the running for the other days.
She said cheerfully: "We're the Friday guys! We love being Friday guys! ".
She also mentioned that she couldn't have replaced Holly even if she wanted to because her schedule is full.
She lives in Birmingham and has commitments to her other shows.
She confirmed: "Absolutely not. How could I? I live in Birmingham and do Bake Off and For the Love of Dogs. I never wanted that job. Last year we did extra because we were going through issues, but Cat and Ben will save that show."
After saying nice things about Cat and Ben, Alison talked a bit about the Schofield scandal.
Alison spoke up for the first time to say something kind about Schofield leaving ITV.
She said: "As for said 'issues'... Listen. I don't want to get into salacious gossip. All I need to say is I personally wish Phillip Schofield all the best. I loved Phillip Schofield. Full stop. But that's the last thing I would want to speak about."
Alison is doing well in her current job and she has some ideas for what she wants to do
