Alison Hammond was in for a sweet surprise during Friday's episode of This Morning, after a guest proposed to her live on air.
The presenter, who was joined on the sofa by her co-host, Dermot O'Leary, was hosting the show as usual, when one of the young players from the Brentford Penguins football team took a shine to her. The 48 year old was interviewing the team's coach, Allan Cockram, who is a former professional Spurs player, alongside three of the boys from the squad.
Allan runs the Brentford Penguins, the UK’s only football team for children with Down’s Syndrome. Louis was one of the young players present during the interview, who decided to wow Alison with some of his chat up lines.
Asking the presenter: "Do you live in Tennessee?" Alison replied with: "No I don't live in Tennessee, why?" Cheekily, Louis responded: "Because you're the only ten I see." He shared others, too, including: “Have you just come out of the oven? Because you look hot!” As laughter erupted throughout the studio, Louis continued to shower Alison with his praises. Clearly besotted with the Great British Bake Off host, he then picked his moment to pop the question to the star.
"I just love you. Will you marry me?" he asked the presenter, to which she affectionately replied: "Yes! Ahh, you’re so lovely.” Naturally, fans of the show took to Twitter to gush over the wholesome moment captured on live TV.
"This might be the best thing we've watched all week!" one user said, as another typed: "Ah this kid is gold with his chat up lines." "@thismorning the interview with @AlisonHammond and @radioleary with The Brentford Penguins was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen," a third penned.
