While watching the Women’s World Cup Final, Eva saw herself reflected in the England team. Not just because they were talented women playing football at a high level, but because many of the players had also left the country to pursue their dream.
“A lot of the girls on the England team have played college soccer before so it’s inspiring to know they’ve been through the path I’m going on as well,” She told the M.E.N.
From Stockport, Eva is a winger who has recently moved halfway across the world to play football in America. Eva made the decision to move countries due to her experiences of the attitudes towards women’s football at a grass-roots level.

Speaking to the M.E.N. she said: “I can’t even count how many times our games would get cancelled because it would ruin the pitch for the boys the next day. Or the boys have to play first because if the girls play the pitch would be ruined.
“The boys got priority first for everything. We always could see that favouritism towards the boys. A lot of the universities in England, the (women’s) football teams are kind of like on the side if you just wanna play.
“I went to look around some universities in Manchester and they didn’t even have a women’s team. if they had a women’s team it wasn’t advertised at all.
“All the pictures on the walls around the universities were the men’s football team and what the men had done.”
Eva, 19, has been in America for just under a month and is playing and studying at the East Central Community College in Mississippi, Texas on an athletic and academic scholarship. Her aim is obtain a degree while playing to forge a career for herself in football on or
