A plan to demolish a building used by Jehovah’s Witnesses to make way for four new homes in Trafford has been submitted.
The four ‘high-quality’ homes will take shape at the site on Wellington Road in Timperley, if the council gives planning permission.
They will be in a pair of five-bedroom semi-detached properties parallel to adjacent homes on Brook Close.
A design and access statement submitted on behalf of the applicant Amaan Chohan, of PIC Brook Close Ltd, said of the plan: “This is an opportunity to provide high quality housing in an attractive location with schools, local amenities and major transport links to Manchester city centre in close proximity.

“The current building on the site is occupied by a hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a youth club. Despite their contribution to the local community, this use isn’t justified in a site of such a large scale and there for there is a huge opportunity to reflect the objectives within the Trafford Local Plan [which sets out housing strategy in the borough].”
The four houses in the development are all 2.5 storeys high, with ground, first and second floors, says architect CODA Bespoke.
“The house types benefit from a clear aesthetic informed by the Victorian villas in the area, including features such as forward-facing gables, stone linets and door surround and canted bay windows,” the statement says.
The planning decision will be made by Trafford’s planning and development management committee.
