Paul Scholes has urged Bruno Fernandes to 'get closer' to Manchester United teammate Rasmus Hojlund in a bid to get the striker firing.
Hojlund has shown plenty of promise since arriving at United in a £72million deal over the summer but goals continue to be a problem. The Denmark international has scored three times in the Champions League, including a brilliant brace against Galatasaray, but is yet to find the net in the Premier League.
He has been guilty of missing chances but consistent service has also been lacking, with no obvious patterns of attack playing to his strengths. Fernandes in particular has failed to link up with his new teammate in the same way he did with Marcus Rashford last season.

Each goalless game is increasing the pressure on Hojlund, who at just 20 years old cannot be expected to be the finished product. And Scholes has called on the more experienced Fernandes to help out.
“Bruno Fernandes needs to help Hojlund a bit more,” Scholes told TNT Sports. “This is a young lad who has come over from a different country and has not scored a Premier League goal yet. He's so young, he needs help.
“Fernandes needs to get as close to him as he possibly can because half of the time he's all over the pitch. Play your position, help the kid out and he will score goals!”
Hojlund's only consistent service has come from Rashford, who spoke earlier this season of the pair working together away from regular sessions. The pair look to have gelled relatively quickly, but Fernandes was United's creator-in-chief last season and needs to rediscover that spark.
