The Dandy Warhols and The Black Angels have announced a UK and European co-headline tour for this autumn – find all the details below.The run of joint dates is set to kick off in Paris on September 21 before the two bands head to Brussels, Den Haag, Utrecht and Berlin ahead of a stop-off at Cannonball Festival in Copenhagen.From there, The Dandy Warhols and The Black Angels will head to the UK and Ireland for concerts in Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, London and Bristol at the end of September and into early October.Tickets go on general sale at 9am BST this Friday (April 5).

Nick Vivarelli International Correspondent Italy’s Indiana Production – which is part of pan-European studio Vuelta Group – is making a significant move into the comedy space by forging a multi-picture deal and a creative collaboration pact with multihyphenate Gennaro Nunziante who has directed top local hits including “Quo Vado” that is the country’s all-time highest grosser. Nunziante – who is a writer/director and sometimes actor – and Indiana are jointly mounting a pipeline of theatrical movies with smart storylines rooted in present-day social issues that, at least in some cases, will seek to travel outside Italy.

Christopher Vourlias Iranian filmmaker Farahnaz Sharifi‘s “My Stolen Planet,” an intimate family portrait of life during Iran’s 1979 Islamic revolution, won the Golden Alexander at the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival on Sunday, bringing a close to an emotional and politically charged week in Greece’s second city. Using both the director’s personal archives and 8mm recordings of strangers’ lives, the film — which world premiered in the Berlin Film Festival’s Panorama strand — uses an essayistic style to present the joy and vitality of life in Tehran in the 1970s, in contrast with the oppression imposed on the Iranian people by the country’s hardline regime.

Hong Kong Film Festival to Open With Ray Yeung’s ‘All Shall Be Well,’ Close With Japanese Charmer ‘All the Long Nights’

Patrick Frater Asia Bureau Chief This month’s Hong Kong International Film Festival will showcase over 190 films from 62 countries and regions, including five world premieres, and 64 Asian premieres. Running 12 days (March 28 – April 8), the festival will open with the Asian premiere of local director Ray Yeung’s “All Shall Be Well,” which won the Teddy Award at the recent Berlin festival.
