Plan B measures put in place to slow the spread of Omicron have now been scrapped completely.
On Wednesday, January 26, the legislation, voted for by MPs before Christmas, expired.
That means that, from today, Plan B measures such as mandatory face masks and Covid Passes will no longer be legally in force.
Guidance asking people to work from home has already been lifted and face coverings were scrapped in classrooms last week.
The only regulations that will stay in place from today are those around self-isolation and travel testing. But even those rules are expected to change soon.
Here are the final two Plan B measures being scrapped today, and the rule changes that are still to come.
Face coverings have been a legal requirement in most public spaces, including shops, shopping centres, salons, cinemas, places of worship and on public transport, since Plan B measures were introduced.
However, face masks are now no longer legally required in any public spaces.
The government is advising that masks continue to be worn in confined public spaces.
However, the police do not have the power to fine people that do not decide to wear one.
Instead, the government said it will "trust the judgment of the British people and no longer criminalise anyone who chooses not to wear one".
The guidance states: "The government suggests that you continue to wear a face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces where you may come into contact with other people you do not normally meet."
In educational settings, local directors of public health are still able to recommend face coverings in communal areas only, but only where the department and public health experts judge the measures to be proportionate. The government says this is a temporary
