Teenager, 18, stabbed on busy city centre street in early hours

A teenager was taken to hospital after being stabbed in Manchester city centre.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Withy Grove - a busy street near the Printworks and the Arndale centre - at around 12.30am on Saturday (July 2). Police were called by paramedics who were responding to a stabbing.
The victim, an 18-year-old male, was taken to hospital from the scene. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

An investigation into the incident is now underway. It has not yet been confirmed whether anyone was arrested.
Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident in the busy area to come forward. In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 12.30am on Saturday 2 July 2022, we were called by the ambulance service responding to a report of a stabbing on Withy Grove, Manchester City Centre.
"Officers attended and an 18-year-old man was taken to hospital. His injuries are not thoughts to be life threatening.
"An investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to contact us via gmp.police.uk or 101 quoting 124 02/07/22. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
