Does Manchester city centre need more green spaces?

Manchester city centre is equipped with many things you'd expect and want, such as bars, restaurants and thriving businesses.
But despite there being some lovely parks towards the outer edges of the city, the centre doesn't have much in the way of leafy scenic spaces.
And after Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham responded to a complaint on Twitter about a lack of greenery, we want to know if you think the Manchester city centre needs more green spaces.

Responding to the tweet, Burnham said : "We’re supporting the City Council with the building of a new park near Piccadilly and creating a raised “High Line” park in Castlefield. But always open as to how we can do more."
Some of our readers have already echoed demands for more parks and green spaces, with one saying: " They still haven't done anything with Piccadilly Gardens apart from making it gradually worse.
They paved over the peace gardens for their toy train set and remember the tree-lined "European style boulevard" in Great Ancoats Street that we were promised?"
Another person added: " The ruination of Manchester centre carries on at a pace horrible skyscraper buildings being added by the day the loss of Piccadilly Gardens was a sad one."
Piccadilly Gardens was very much the main target of people's complaints and ideas for improvement, with another reader saying: "I love Manchester, but Piccadilly Gardens is a dump!
"Look at the gorgeous architecture, that should be matched with a beautiful focal point, with raised floral beds and lots of greenery, too many posh flats being built, spend the money on a safe place for young families to come and picnic."
