Apple TV+ has formalized a series order for The New Look, a World War II-set drama about fashion icons Christian Dior and Coco Chanel starring Emmy winner Ben Mendelsohn and Oscar winner Juliette Binoche. The project comes from Bloodline and Damages co-creator Todd A. Kessler and Apple Studios. It marks the first series from the newly formed television producing partnership of Kessler and veteran producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers, Salt).

Bill Nighy (Love Actually) has been tapped to star opposite Chiwetel Ejiofor and Naomie Harris in Showtime’s The Man Who Fell To Earth drama series, based on the Walter Tevis novel and the cult classic 1976 film starring David Bowie. Nighy will play the role played by Bowie in the film in the series, which comes from Alex Kurtzman, Jenny Lumet and John Hlavin. It will premiere later this year.

Both shows hail from AMC Studios and have been given six-episode orders with an eye to debut them on AMC and AMC Plus in 2023.“Demascus” is a half-hour series about life as an ordinary Black man in America today.

The O.C. alum Adam Brody is set to star alongside Jesse Eisenberg, Lizzy Caplan and Claire Danes in FX’s Fleishman is in Trouble, a limited series adaptation of Taffy Brodesser-Akner’s bestselling debut novel of the same name, which will stream on Hulu. Maxim Jasper Swinton (Halston) and Meara Mahoney Gross (Don’t Look Up) will also be featured in the series.
