EXCLUSIVE: The creator and stars from the hottest show of summer 2023 are coming to the 2024 ATX TV Festival. Season 13 of the festival, which runs from May 30-June 2, 2024 in Austin, TX, has announced its first confirmed panels, and they include a Suits retrospective.

Balfe has joined the festival’s previously announced “Women of Outlander” panel, as have actor Sophie Skelton, executive producer Maril Davis and EP-writer Toni Graphia. “Austin City Limits,” the storied live music showcase that has been a staple of public television for decades, will celebrate its golden anniversary with “Backstage with ‘Austin City Limits’: 50 Years of Making Music in Austin.” Key producers and technicians will detail the backstories behind the performances of the country, folk, roots, rock and pop figures who have appeared on the show.

Ahead of the Season 1 finale, Syfy has renewed its hit original series The Ark for a second go-round. The renewal comes amid strong ratings for the series from Independence Day writer-producer Dean Devlin.

Created by Dean Devlin, “The Ark” takes place 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. The first of these missions on a spacecraft known as Ark One encounters a catastrophic event causing massive destruction and loss of life. With more than a year left to go before reaching their target planet, a lack of life-sustaining supplies and loss of leadership, the remaining crew must become the best versions of themselves to stay on course and survive. Titled “In the Know,” the new animated series is co-created and executive produced by Judge, Woods, and Brandon Gardner. Judge and Woods will also lend their voices to the series. The pickup of the show marks Peacock’s first adult animated series order. The show’s official logline reads, “Lauren Caspian is NPR’s third most popular host. He’s a well-meaning, hypocritical nimrod, just like you and me. He’s also a stop motion puppet. Each episode follows the making of an episode of Lauren’s show In the Know, in which Lauren conducts in-depth interviews with real world human guests. Lauren collaborates with a diverse crew of NPR staff. They are also puppets and nimrods.”

Peacock has officially entered the teeming adult animation space with the announcement of a straight-to-series order for “In the Know,” a stop-motion NPR-themed series from “The Office” alums Zach Woods and Greg Daniels, who executive produce along with Mike Judge (“Beavis and Butt-Head”), Brandon Gardner and Dustin Davis.Judge, Woods and Gardner co-created the series, with the former two also starring. Peacock’s The Resort is coming to NBC primetime. The premiere episode of the popular comedy thriller series will air on NBC Wednesday, August 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT following a live results telecast of America’s Got Talent.

New Amsterdam‘s fifth and final season will be its shortest, consisting of 13 episodes. That will bring the show’s total to 92 episodes.

Peacock has handed a series order to Twisted Metal, a comedic half-hour live-action adaptation of the popular video game, from Sony Pictures TV, Playstation Productions and Universal Television. Anthony Mackie (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) stars and executive produces the project, first announced in September, which is written and executive produced by Cobra Kai writer Michael Jonathan Smith, who will serve as showrunner. Will Arnett and Marc Forman, who secured the rights to the material and helped put the adaptation together, also executive produce via their Electric Avenue production company.
