Susanna Reid appeared lost for words after having to share the heartbreaking news a mother and her unborn child were killed after a maternity hospital was targeted in Ukraine.

As the news emerged last week, shocking pictures were shared of the rubble and the rescue efforts and a photo of a pregnant woman being pulled from the debris and carried on a stretcher was captured.

"More than 30 minutes of resuscitation of the mother didn't produce results,' Mr Marin said on Saturday. "Both died."
During Monday's edition of Good Morning Britain, Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid had been speaking to Daily Mail's Andrew Pierce and Daily Mirror's Kevin Maguire about the latest Russian strike on a Ukrainian base near the border with Poland.
They were also joined by Ukraine MP Lesia Vasylenko who appeared via video link from Strasbourg to discuss the ongoing situation.
As they wrapped up their conversation with Lesia, Susanna said: "Before we go, sorry, we've just seen that you've tweeted this morning... A couple of day ago we saw that devastating attack on a maternity hospital and you've mentioned that the photograph that just hit us
