Martin Lewis has been flooded with praise after he returned to Good Morning Britain with a historic special episode. The Money Saving Expert is no stranger to hosting the ITV news programme now having made his presenting debut on the show last year.
But as well as being a presenter on Wednesday's show, he was also back to his regular job as GMB was turned into a cost of living special. Susanna Reid kickstarted the first part of the show in an unusual fashion as she presented the programme on her own for the first hour before being joined by Martin who was taking viewers' questions as well as dishing out his best advice as millions prepare for some of the biggest price hikes in more than a decade from later this week when the energy price cap is introduced on Friday (April 1).

Martin started the show by explaining exactly what the price cap is, before going on to answer key questions such as whether people should fix their tariff or stick to a variable rate and tell viewers exactly what they need to do before Friday such as taking a meter read.
Explaining why it is important to do the latter, he said: "That draws a line in the sand with the energy firm and it says every single unit of energy I have used until this meter reading should be charged at the cheap rate. "Don't go estimating summers at the high rate. So, get your meter reading in and get that line in the sand drawn."
The programme also featured real-life stories including one pensioner who admitted to eating one meal a day and is now beginning to lose weight after her energy bills rose from £17 a month to £76.
Martin and Susanna were also joined by Deputy Prime
