Sunday Brunch star Simon Rimmer has shared the heartbreaking final images of his long-standing West Didsbury restaurant all closed up - as he said his final goodbyes. Acclaimed chef Simon announced earlier this month that Greens in Didsbury would close after a huge rent hike and rising costs made it impossible to continue.
He and business partner Simon Connolly first opened the acclaimed vegetarian restaurant on Lapwing Lane 33 years ago. They went on to open a second Greens restaurant, in Sale, which remains open and where the team will now "carry on the journey".
Simon took to social media on Sunday night as he closed up the Greens West Didsbury premises for the final time. He shared photos of the now empty restaurant and a final selfie from outside the iconic restaurant.

Earlier this month Simon had shared his heartbreak over taking the decision to close the venue after three decades.
He said at the time: "After 33 years running Greens in Didsbury we've unfortunately had to close the door. Our landlords have increased the rent in the region of 35%, the cost of raw materials, the cost of heat, light and power, employing people and general food costs have meant the business has unfortunately become unviable so with immediate effect we have shut the door."
Sharing his thoughts on Monday night as he and business partner Simon cleared the venue, Simon said: "Today we said goodbye to @greensdidsbury. 33 years of my life coming to a sad end.
"Thanks and love to all who’ve been on our journey. @simonconnollygreens and I are proud of what we’ve achieved. Love, hugs, tears and we’ll carry on the journey @greenssale xx"
