A strong roster of new restaurants and bars are set to open their doors in Greater Manchester in the coming months, and it appears the buzz surrounding our ‘exciting’ food scene is being felt far beyond the city limits. This past week, a national food publication has shared its top food and drink trends for 2024, and Manchester has landed a top spot as a one to watch.
Sharing its 11 food, drink and restaurant predictions for the year ahead, Restaurant Magazine, a publication with over 20 years of experience and expertise covering the restaurant industry, has predicted that 2024 will be a big year for the north west’s most populous city. Sitting alongside predictions including resets for fine dining and vegan fast food, Manchester has earned itself an entire spot, with its top-tier openings attracting a lot of attention.

In its write-up, Restaurant Magazine states this year will “cement its status as one of the UK’s most exciting cities for eating out”, adding that we’re already off to a good start as restaurants including the award-winning Higher Ground, and hotly anticipated Fenix start to properly bed in after high profile launches last year.
