Strictly Come Dancing season is one of our favourite times of the year – and while it’s going to be a while before we start hearing announcements, ideas about who will participate in this year’s series are already floating around. There are already some big changes in the air, considering we know that two-time champion Oti Mabuse has left the series after seven years, with the official pro line-up yet to be confirmed. That’s before we get into what’s going to happen if Bruno Tonioli returns, and where Anton Du Beke is going to stand within the show.
There’s a lot to be getting through. Here’s everything we know so far about Strictly’s cast of 2022. Typically, Strictly Come Dancing gets pride of place in the autumn/winter schedule on BBC One.
The line-up starts getting announced in August with the pre-recorded launch show – where the dancers are paired with their pros – taking place in mid-September. This gives the contestants time to practice ahead of the first live show, which will then continue through to the finale. However, official dates are yet to be confirmed, and over the past couple of years due to Covid, there have been adjustments made to make the runtime shorter, and staple events like the Blackpool week being cut out.
