Fans are going to remember Dancing On Ice 2022 for all sorts of reasons. It’s featured some of the best skaters the show has ever seen, leading to a final where it’s impossible to call who’ll win. The series, presented by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, welcomed a new judge in the form of Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse, who took over from John Barrowman.
The judging panel also of course included our most successful ice dance pairing of all time, the legendary Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean. And when we catch up with them to talk about Sunday's finale, there are plenty of highlights to discuss as well as the subject of whether they can see a day when they don't take a turn on the ice themselves... If we hadn’t seen it for ourselves we’d think it all a weird dream after too many drinks or a late night cheese feast. Despite the added entertainment value of seeing Bez wearing a crash helmet as past of his costume each week – the first skater to do so – he departed the competition fifth. Now we’re at the final, with former Strictly star Brendan Cole, Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and pro dancer (and son of Gazza) Regan Gascoigne left, hoping to skate to glory.
And according to Chris and Jayne, anyone could win it... Jayne and Chris, we’re going to see you perform in the final. Do you ever feel like it might be time to hang up your skates?

It was possibly one of the closest Dancing On Ice finals there has been but there had to be one winner.
This year’s Dancing on Ice finalists, Brendan Cole, Kimberly Wyatt and Regan Gascoigne, have hit back at claims the ITV show is “fixed” as they all have previous dance experience. The trio, who will skate to impress the ice panel including Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean in the grand final on Sunday 27 March, have all carved out careers as dancers. However, speaking to OK! and other press outlets on the countdown to their last performances, the finalists insisted that it doesn’t mean that they would be natural ice skaters.
He was the original bad boy of the Strictly ballroom, gaining a reputation for talking back when he didn’t agree with the judges and occasionally strained relationships with celebrity dance partners. Now Brendan Cole - who won the first series of Strictly with newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky back in 2004 - could be about to taste victory again, 18 years later, as he takes part in Sunday’s Dancing On Ice final. And though many people assumed that Brendan has a competitive streak that would give him an edge, he says that is really not the case.
EXCLUSIVE: Max Casella (The Tender Bar), Domenick Lombardozzi (The Irishman), Vincent Piazza (Boardwalk Empire), and newcomer Jay Will (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) have been cast opposite lead Sylvester Stallone in Tulsa King (working title), Paramount+’s new series created by Yellowstone‘s Taylor Sheridan, with The Sopranos alum Terence Winter at the helm as executive producer, writer and showrunner.

Anyone hoping to see their favourite celebs battle for the Dancing on Ice trophy will have to wait a bit longer before they find out who will take home the amazing trophy. In a shake-up to its typical Sunday schedule, ITV has confirmed that the Dancing on Ice final will not air on Sunday 20 March, due to a scheduling conflict. The dancing show's finale has been pushed back by a week so the channel can cover the FA Cup quarter-final match between Nottingham Forest and Liverpool. The football match is due to kick off at 5.15pm and coverage will be on ITV for three hours, meaning that the programme would clash with Dancing on Ice’s usual prime-time 6.30pm slot on ITV1.
ITV competition sees the celebrity lineup take to the ice each week with jaw-dropping performances, and tonight (Sunday, March 13) was no different. Among this year’s contestants are the likes of Love Island star Liberty Poole, Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens. After a lively group routine to Camila Cabello's 'Don't Go Yet' led by former pro Dan Whiston, Phillip Schofield – who was hosting alone after Holly Willoughby tested positive for Covid-19 earlier today – then welcomed the final five on to the ice for a solo skating challenge.
