The new Kander & Ebb stage musical New York, New York, inspired by the 1977 Martin Scorsese film starring Liza Minnelli and ‎Robert De Niro, will begin performances Friday, March 24, 2023 and officially open Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Broadway’s St. James Theatre.

Emily Ratajkowski is getting into the podcasting game.

The book is based on interviews with friends and family and Newman himself over the span of five years in the mid-’80s.The interviews were conducted by Newman and his friend, screenwriter Stewart Stern, and they set a rule that everyone be “completely honest.”Newman — who is known for films such as “The Hustler,” “Cool Hand Luke” and “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” — delved into being a sex symbol in Hollywood, revealing it wasn’t until he met Woodward, that he began to embrace it.“Joanne gave birth to a sexual creature,” Newman says in an excerpt of the book, as seen by People.

Caroline Framke Chief TV Critic Emily Ratajkowski, the model and bestselling author of essay collection “My Body,” is ready to add “podcast host” to her resumé. “High Low with EmRata,” which Ratajkowski describes as “‘Call Her Daddy’ meets ‘Fresh Air,'” will launch Tuesday, November 1. “I decided I wanted to write the book before I ever would even think about a podcast, but it’s sort of a natural progression for me,” the 31 year-old tells Variety exclusively. “I’m very excited about producing the show and doing it in my own way.” Launching in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment, “High Low with EmRata” will release two episodes a week plus a bonus episode for subscribers only. The two main episodes will consist of one guest interview and one “themed” episode that Ratajkowski describes as “a monologue” more in the vein of her essays. “I grew up listening to NPR and radio because we didn’t have television…Ira Glass was my hero,” she continues. “To be able to dive into topics that I’m interested in, in this format is so exciting.” The range of topics Ratajkowski hopes to tackle include feminism, pop culture, self-image, relationships, and “cultural moments” that encompass all the above. “I don’t want the show to at all feel pretentious, but I want to be talking about things that I find interesting and important,” she says, citing interviewer influences ranging from Terry Gross to Howard Stern.

Manori Ravindran International Editor New York’s South Asian International Film Festival has appointed Chayan Sarkar as its new president. A filmmaker, entrepreneur and festival director, Sarkar is also the founder of the Indian International Film Festival of Queensland in Australia. He takes over from SAIFF founder Shilen Amin, who will step down as president, but will remain a member of the festival’s board of directors. Sarkar joins SAIFF as the festival enters its 19th year as a leading film festival in the U.S. for new cinema from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal, and within the Indian diaspora. In recent years, SAIFF has become increasingly influential as a platform for South Asian cinema, both in the U.S. and internationally. Fourteen of India’s submissions for the international feature film Oscar have had their North American premieres at the festival.

Katcy Stephan In a new episode of the Try Guys’ podcast “The TryPod,” Keith Habersberger and Zach Kornfeld opened up at length about the removal of Ned Fulmer, who admitted on Sept. 27 that he engaged in what he called a “consensual” workplace affair and was the subject of an internal investigation.  In the episode, titled “ok, let’s talk about it,” Habersberger and Kornfeld were joined by producer Miles Bonsignore to discuss the moments immediately following their discovery of Fulmer’s actions. “We processed this almost like a trauma,” Kornfeld explained. “It really rocked our word, but also the ramifications were so clear. I don’t think that I really ever stopped to emotionally process it. Even still, I don’t know that I have. Because it was just, ‘OK, we have to act. We have to go. This thing happened, how do we react accordingly?’ I understood the severity of the accusations against Ned, but also the laundry list of steps ahead.”

Meghan, in her latest episode released on Tuesday, explores the “Dragon Lady” stereotype with journalist Lisa Ling and comedian Margaret Cho.The duchess began by talking about her experience of growing up in Los Angeles which was “full of culture that you could see, feel, hear and taste on a daily basis” and said she had a “real love” of getting to know other cultures.

Kim Kardashian's fans have gone wild after she announced her brand new podcast with Spotify.The 41 year old billionaire is adding yet another string to her bow with the new podcast, which inspired by her interest and work on criminal justice reform. She will narrate the series as she looks into the case of Ohio man Kevin Kieth who was sentenced to death in 1994 for committing a triple murder, before former governor Ted Strickland commuted his sentence to life without parole in 2010.
