A weather warning for ice has been issued across northern Scotland as the snow clears after Christmas Day.
The Met Office's yellow warning predicts tough travel conditions as weather worsens in the region. Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, the Highlands and Moray will be among the worst hit areas.
The alert will begin on 7:40pm today, Monday December 25 through to 10:00am on Tuesday December 26.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "A mixture of rain, sleet and snow that developed during the afternoon of Christmas Day will clear eastward through the coming night.
"Skies will clear allowing ice to develop on untreated surfaces. There will also be some wintry showers developing later in the night which may also lead to some patchy ice developing."
More snow is predicted in the region later on the week but elsewhere the windy conditions will continue.
The Met spokesperson continued: "Generally wet and windy on Wednesday with some snow in the northeast. Brighter and showery on Thursday and Friday, though windy, especially in the south. Further hill snow in north."
