Slowthai announces Coachella sideshows for North American tour

Paul McCartney is hitting the road again.

Elvis Costello & The Imposters have unveiled details of a new, North American tour today (February 17).The Imposters are comprised of Steve Nieve (keyboards), Pete Thomas (drums) and Davey Faragher (bass/backing vocals).

Belgian pop artist Stromae is heading over to the United States in April to play Coachella 2022, his first American show in ages. North American fans won't have to head to Indio, California to see him perform this year, though: starting in October, Stromae will perform nine additional dates in the United States and Canada, including three in Quebec.

Coachella and Stagecoach festivals have dropped all COVID-19 safety precautions ahead of both events making a return this spring.Coachella will take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California between April 15-17 and 22-24, while Stagecoach will be held at the same venue between April 29-May 1.Previously, the festivals’ promoter Goldenvoice had announced that proof of vaccination against COVID-19 would no longer be required. Now, it has also dropped entry requirements including a negative test taken in the 72 hours prior to attendance and the wearing of masks.The health and safety guidance on the websites for both events has now been updated to confirm that the new policy is “in accordance with local guidelines”.

Modest Mouse have announced a new North American tour with The Cribs, due to take place this spring.The two bands have long had a link, with the Wakefield trio recruiting the Portland band’s Joe Plummer to add some percussion to some tracks in 2007. Later, in 2008, Johnny Marr completed his touring duties with Modest Mouse and left the line-up to join The Cribs, with whom he played for three years.Now the groups are hitting the road together for a number of gigs across North America, which will begin in Baltimore in April.

Foo Fighters have expanded their upcoming North American tour with 10 new shows, set to take place this September and October.The tour, in support of the band’s 2021 album ‘Medicine at Midnight’, will now include additional stops primarily through Canada – including cities such as Winnipeg, Edmonton and Vancouver. Flume will return to North America for his first tour dates in nearly three years this April, in support of his forthcoming album ‘Palaces’.Flume had previously been announced as part of the 2022 Coachella line-up in April, as well as Bonnaroo and New York City’s Governors Ball this June. mxmtoon has released ‘mona lisa’, a new single from her sophomore album that will be released later this year. IDLES have shared the details behind their 2022 North American tour and announced that they’ve been added to this year’s Coachella Music Festival lineup.Along with the new tour dates, the band has shared a video for their single, ‘CRAWL!’ from their fourth studio album, ‘CRAWLER’. The video features a claymation version of frontman Joe Talbot riding a motorcycle while singing the lyrics to the gritty track. Ringo Starr is set to return to the road with his All-Starr Band in mid-2022, touring North America for the first time in nearly three years.Joining Starr on the road will be long-serving guitarist Steve Lukather of Toto, saxophonist Warren Ham, bassist Hamish Stuart and drummer Gregg Bissonette.Men At Work‘s Colin Hay is also set to participate in the tour, providing guitar and vocals, as is a returning Edgar Winter.
