mxmtoon has released ‘mona lisa’, a new single from her sophomore album that will be released later this year. The artist known as Maia has also announced North American tour dates – find those below.The single was released on streaming platforms on February 8 alongside art depicting the singer as the iconic Leonardo da Vinci painting.The ukulele-driven song invites the listener to daydream, mxmtoon checking off references to several famous artists, including William Shakespeare and Frida Kahlo, as she sings: “I wanna be a Mona Lisa / The kinda girl that you can dream of”.Listen to mxmtoon’s ‘mona lisa’ below.The single is taken from mxmtoon’s upcoming sophomore album, which has yet to be given a release date.In a statement, she said, “As someone who usually writes songs about other people, one of my ongoing questions is ‘will anyone ever write songs about me?’”“‘mona lisa’ is about wanting to be the subject of the art for once instead of being the creator.
I think we all daydream at some point in our lives of diving into our favourite stories and finding ourselves in the pages. Inhaler have confirmed that they’re working on their second album by sharing a behind-the-scenes studio clip – watch below.The Dublin band released their debut full-length effort, ‘It Won’t Always Be Like This’, last July ahead of appearing at a string of festivals and embarking on a UK/Ireland headline tour.Having wrapped up a run of US dates in late 2021, the group revealed on social media yesterday (February 24) that they’re currently at work on new music.“Here’s a little treat from us working on new album material, alongside an instrumental we released on vinyl many moons ago,” Inhaler captioned a video, which shows them recording at Narcissus Studio in London.Shot by photographer Lewis Evans, the one-and-a-half-minute, vintage film-style montage sees the members of the band playing their respective instruments before it fades to black.

Elvis Costello & The Imposters have unveiled details of a new, North American tour today (February 17).The Imposters are comprised of Steve Nieve (keyboards), Pete Thomas (drums) and Davey Faragher (bass/backing vocals).
Belgian pop artist Stromae is heading over to the United States in April to play Coachella 2022, his first American show in ages. North American fans won't have to head to Indio, California to see him perform this year, though: starting in October, Stromae will perform nine additional dates in the United States and Canada, including three in Quebec.
Modest Mouse have announced a new North American tour with The Cribs, due to take place this spring.The two bands have long had a link, with the Wakefield trio recruiting the Portland band’s Joe Plummer to add some percussion to some tracks in 2007. Later, in 2008, Johnny Marr completed his touring duties with Modest Mouse and left the line-up to join The Cribs, with whom he played for three years.Now the groups are hitting the road together for a number of gigs across North America, which will begin in Baltimore in April.
Foo Fighters have expanded their upcoming North American tour with 10 new shows, set to take place this September and October.The tour, in support of the band’s 2021 album ‘Medicine at Midnight’, will now include additional stops primarily through Canada – including cities such as Winnipeg, Edmonton and Vancouver. Slowthai has announced a slate of dates for a brief North American tour. The Antisocial Roadshow tour is a seven-show run that kicks off in New York City on April 8 and will make stops in Toronto, Chicago, Denver, and San Francisco before concluding in Boston on April 30.
