Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already shared how much he likes Ross Barkley after previously signing the England international for French side OGC Nice.
A report on Sunday claimed that United are considering making an effort to sign Barkley in the summer. It was claimed in the report that Ratcliffe has identified the England international as one of the players that he could bring in to Old Trafford this summer.
Ratcliffe sanctioned the signing of Barkley for Nice from Chelsea just over a year after his failed loan move to Villa from Stamford Bridge. Barkley only spent a season with the French club before joining Luton Town last summer.

Writing in his book, 'Grit, Rigour and Humour: The Ineos Story', Ratcliffe said about Barkley: "I saw him at Chelsea and he's a really good footballer.
"If his mind's in the right place and he's in really good shape, you could play him twice a week because he's built like a tank, really strong. You have to give a guy a chance to settle. And he gets one game every three or four. It's ridiculous."
The 30-year-old midfielder has been in fine form for Luton this season and has even been tipped for an England recall ahead of this summer's European Championships in Germany.
