Manchester United are reportedly set to make a move for Luton Town midfielder Ross Barkley in the summer.
According to The Sun, INEOS' Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sir Dave Brailsford are big fans of the English midfielder who spent last season at OGC Nice. Barkley was used infrequently in France and departed the club in the summer to join Premier League new boys Luton Town.
Since his move back to the top flight, the 30-year-old has enjoyed a new lease of life and has played just four matches less than he did for Nice in the entirety of last season. Luton boss Rob Edwards has played Barkley as a central midfielder as well as a defensive midfielder which is thought to have caught the eye of United.

Currently, Casemiro faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford with his value depreciating fast as he gets older. The 32-year-old is under contract until 2026 but recent reports have suggested Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr may be interested in submitting a substantial bid this summer to bring him to the Middle East.
Should this move transpire, United will need a new midfielder quickly so the reported interest in Barkley makes sense. The links also come after Brailsford met Barkley last Sunday following the victory over the Hatters.
The 59-year-old waited around the dressing rooms post-match to congratulate the United team and in doing so shared a warm greeting with Barkley. While this may be nothing more than a friendship, it does show there is a positive working relationship between INEOS and the former Chelsea man.
