Tony Hale and Sheryl Lee Ralph have been tapped to announce the nominees for the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards. The live ceremony is slated for Wednesday, July 17, at 8:30 a.m. PDT/11:30 a.m. EDT. It will stream live from Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre on Emmys.com/nominations.

Selome Hailu Jeffrey Wright has joined the cast of Paramount+ With Showtime‘s upcoming political thriller series “The Agency.” As exclusively reported by Variety, the series is led by Michael Fassbender as Martian, a covert CIA agent. George Clooney serves as executive producer. Wright will play Henry, the CIA’s director of operations overseeing non-official cover agents, and a mentor to Martian.

Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer Film and TV studio A24 has secured a new round of funding led by Josh Kushner’s investment firm Thrive Capital. In connection with the investment, Kushner will be joining the board of directors for A24, best known for such films as “Civil War,” “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “Moonlight” and “Uncut Gems,” and TV series “Euphoria,” “Beef,” “Ramy” and “The Sympathizer.” Financial details and exact figures were not disclosed by A24 and Thrive Capital, but sources confirm to Variety the investment from Thrive Capital gives it a valuation of about $3.5 billion — a 40% increase since A24’s first round of funding, which was $225 million at $2.5 billion in 2022.

Fresh off the success of her Star Wars series, The Acolyte, director Leslye Headland has found new agents as she has signed with CAA for representation.

Jennifer Lawrence will get to feud, day-drink and access oodles of disposable income, at least until a body turns up, in “The Wives,” a murder mystery that is in the vein of “The Real Housewives.” Apple Original Films acquired the project in what it is describing as a “highly competitive situation.” Lawrence will produce the film alongside Justine Ciarrocchi for her company, Excellent Cadaver.

Katcy Stephan TV and film actor Brian Tee has signed with Verve for representation. Tee recently starred alongside Nicole Kidman in the limited series “Expats,” directed by Lulu Wang for Prime Video. Up next, he will appear in Season 3 of Prime Video’s action series “Reacher” alongside star Alan Ritchson.

Cyrus’ return to CAA comes 15 years after she moved her TV and movie career from UTA over to CAA, which had already repped her for music.

Paramount went all in on Gladiator II at CineEurope today, showing off an exclusive extended look at Ridley Scott’s sequel to his 2000 Best Picture Oscar winner. Introducing the footage in a video clip, Scott promised that Gladiator II, coming nearly two-and-a-half decades after the original, is “well worth the wait”; the audience today agreed. Alex Ritman CAA has signed Cash Carraway, the Irish-English writer, director and exec producer best known for creating the HBO series “Rain Dogs.” Carraway’s first TV production, “Rain Dogs” — a bleak British dramedy about an unconventional relationship between a working-class single mother, her young daughter and a privileged gay man — was met with critical acclaim when it aired in March 2023. The eight-part series starred Daisy May Cooper, Jack Farthing, Ronkẹ Adékoluẹjo and Fleur Tashjian, and later earned a Gotham Award nomination for best breakthrough series, while Carraway was named a BAFTA Breakthrough.
