Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon is due to join Brentford on loan for the rest of the season after having his stay at Manchester United ended early.

Sergio Reguilon has branded Luke Shaw as one of the best left-backs in the country and says the pair speak a lot about their cohesion both during, and outside of, matches.
Reguilon is on a season-long loan at Manchester United from Tottenham having been brought in over the summer to cover at full-back amid long-term injuries to Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. Shaw is now back from his setback while Malacia is expected to return next month having yet to play since having knee surgery during the off-season.
Reguilon, who has played 11 matches for United, says he has a good relationship with Shaw, who is sometimes asked to play at centre-back. “I always say that Luke Shaw is one of the best left-backs in England,” Reguilon told club media.

“Playing with him and also when he plays at centre-back, we talk a lot on the pitch and also away from the pitch about information and tactics. For me it's a real pleasure.”
Reguilon also hailed Raphael Varane as a talisman for Erik ten Hag’s side. The Frenchman, out of contract this summer, has slipped down the centre-back pecking order behind Harry Maguire this season but Reguilon still thinks highly of his teammate.
He added: “I have a good relationship with him [Varane]. For me he’s a leader, he’s a top player and he plays here at the top level. At the end of the day, I’m very happy to be part of the team with him.”
Varane is hopeful of extending his stay at Old Trafford despite reports linking him with a move away this summer.
