A picturesque Scottish destination has been named among the five best spring walks to "make you feel alive".
With spring in full bloom and the days getting longer and longer, now is the ideal time to immerse yourself in the majesty of the Scots countryside. Luckily, the list of beauty spots spread out across the country is seemingly endless — from tropical gardens to historic castles.
If you are feeling overwhelmed by all of the choice, PA Media have just revealed "five sensational spring walks to make you feel alive" throughout the UK. One of these is Culzean Castle and Country Park, right here in Scotland.
Overlooking the Firth of Clyde near Maybole in Carrick, Culzean Castle is nestled on the Ayrshire cliffs. It is situated in the heart of a 260-hectare estate that is home to a wealth of wonderful wildlife, and surrounded by three miles of sandy coastline.
If the sun is shining, the beach and its rock pools are perfect to explore with the family. Meanwhile, the formal gardens include secret follies that offer striking displays of blossom with early rhododendrons starting to flower.
For those with young ones, there are also Adventure Cove and Wild Woodland play areas to explore. These include everything from soaring towers and treehouses to slides and climbing walls.
Elsewhere, Culzean Castle itself dates back to the late 18th century, and is full of rare treasures and artefacts that tell the stories of the people who lived there. The castle offers guided tours where you can learn more about its fascinating history and features.
Culzean Castle and Country Park is also very popular amongst visitors. It currently has an average rating of 4.5 out five on travel website Tripadvisor based on 2,822 reviews.

“Curb Your Enthusiasm.” At the end of the HBO comedy, titled “No Lessons Learned,” the show — which aired for 12 seasons, from 2000 to 2024 — circled back to the plot line that began when Larry was arrested in Atlanta for giving water to Auntie Rae (Ellia English) while she was standing on line to vote. This violated a local Georgia law and made Larry an unlikely folk hero, despite the fact that he didn’t do it on purpose.
