A Scottish cocktail bar has been named as "one of the best bars in the world" by a leading food and drink publication.
If there is one thing Scotland is known for, it is its whisky and its renowned distilleries and bars all over the country. However, there are also plenty of exciting cocktail venues dotted around for those after something a bit more fun — and not just in Scotland's cities.
On Tuesday, American culinary magazine Food & Wine wrote of how a "170-year-old restored Victorian coaching inn became the home to one of the best bars in the world". The publication singled out the "world-class" Elsa's Bar in the Fife Arms hotel in Braemar.

Elsa's Bar is one of many food and drink venues situated in the acclaimed Highlands hotel, and is described on its website as an "exquisite jewel box of a bar". Featuring an Art Deco design, it is named after Italian designer Elsa Schiaparelli — famous for her Surrealist and eccentric fashions.
Like the Fife Arms itself, the bar is a stunning blend of old and new. Historic décor contrasts beautifully with more modern touches such as suede seating and even a disco ball.
Among Elsa's Bar's signature cocktails is the Shocking Pink, which includes Fife Arms gin, cherry, sage, hibiscus, and ginger wine. The drink is inspired by the colour of the same name that was created by Schiaparelli.
Elsewhere, other cocktails on offer include the Tear Up and the Bolero. The former takes inspiration from an iconic gown worn by Schiaparelli and features toasted cashew pisco and Johnnie Walker Black Label, while the latter is based upon the designer's Bolero jacket — and includes Don Julio blanco and mezcal.

Riley Keough is weighing in on the possibility of filming a second season of Daisy Jones & The Six.
Daisy Jones & The Six star Riley Keough has opened up about the show’s future – see what she had to say below.Last year, Daisy Jones & The Six premiered on Amazon Prime Video, telling the story of the “precipitous rise and fall of a renowned rock band” led by singers Daisy Jones (Riley Keough) and Billy Dunne (Sam Claflin). The series is based on the 2019 novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, with the story partly inspired by the dynamic between Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. However, despite the show’s positive reception, Daisy Jones & The Six has yet to be greenlit for a second season and now, Keough has spoken about a potential follow-up. Speaking to Variety, Keough said: “I would love to but I don’t know if it’s in the cards…I haven’t heard anything.”Keough’s comments come after her co-star Sam Claflin revealed earlier during the Emmy Awards that he had “outlined” his vision for a second season, and that he was “pushing for it”.While the show wraps up the entirety of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s 2019 novel, the author said in a statement to Variety last year: “I think we’re in a really fortunate position where we have a story that is final, and has an ending that feels really good.
Marc Malkin Senior Editor, Culture and Events Despite the success of “Daisy Jones & the Six,” star Riley Keough says the band isn’t getting back together anytime soon. Despite fans hoping — and demanding — a second season of the Prime Video miniseries adaptation of Tara Jenkin Reid’s best-selling novel, Keough tells me, “I would love to but I don’t know if it’s in the cards…I haven’t heard anything.” The series followed Daisy Jones (Keough) and her bandmates (Sam Claflin, Camila Morrone, Suki Waterhouse, Will Harrison, Josh Whitehouse and Sebastian Chacon) as they make their way through the Los Angeles music scene of the 1970s. The series premiered just over a year ago to positive reviews.

The Libertines have revealed that they still have the ambition to break America, despite frontman Pete Doherty being “banned” from the country for two decades. The British indie icons reflected on the success of their career over the past 20 years during a new interview with The Sun (via Music News), and revealed that there is still a part of them that wishes they could take their music across the pond. The discussion came in light of their recently released album, ‘All Quiet on the Eastern Esplanade’, which was their first full-length LP in nearly a decade and the follow-up to 2015’s ‘Anthems for Doomed Youth’.Opening up about their hopes to take the album into the States, Carl Barat opened up about the struggles they have faced with the prospect over their career. “Trouble is, Pete’s been banned there for the past 20 years,” he said, explaining how Doherty’s well-documented struggles with addiction have led to various legal issues, and prevented the band from heading Stateside. He continued, going on to share how, although the frontman’s sobriety may help them overcome their previous obstacles, they still have no idea what size their audience would be outside of the UK and Europe.“We don’t know what we’re worth ticket-wise — it could be Madison Square Garden or a local bar,” he pondered.
