A Scottish hotel has been named amongst "the most stylish on the planet".
Lifestyle and fashion magazine GQ shared a new list of fashionable holiday accommodation across the globe. Among the 21 hotels featured, The Fife Arms in the Highlands was the only Scottish destination on the list.
Situated in the historic village of Braemar, the five-star boutique hotel is a former Victorian coaching inn that has been imaginatively restored. Praised for its off-kilter aesthetic, The Fife Arms' interiors combine historic antiques with stylish contemporary touches.
The hotel is home to 46 individually styled bedrooms, including 'Royal Suites' that feature a wealth of opulent artefacts, freestanding copper baths, and separate sitting rooms. Meanwhile, its one-of-a-kind Artist’s Studio includes hand-painted walls in the bedroom and bathroom and a cosy cabin-style bed.
Elsewhere, The Fife Arms' Clunie Dining Room restaurant serves up wood-fire cooking and seasonal Scottish produce, while the hotel's various whisky, wine, and cocktail bars are perfect for an after-dinner drink. There is even a 'Fondue Hut' featuring wood panelling and a cosy fireplace where guests can indulge in local and Swiss cheeses.
Also on offer at the hotel are a number of luxurious spa treatments in its Albamhor Treatment Rooms, overlooking the peaceful garden. Among the services available are hot Cairngorm stone massages, deep tissue acupressure, natural facials, and nail treatments.
Finally, The Fife Arms offers a number of unique 'experiences' to guests to make the most of their stay. These include whisky and food pairing workshops, clay shooting, e-biking, and even wild swimming in beautiful rivers and lochs around the hotel.
