Prestwick Airport bosses have moved to clarify the rules on the 100ml liquid rule at security.
It comes as major airports prepare for the rollout of new scanners that will spell the end for the 100ml liquid rule.
UK airports are being given more time to install the new high-tech scanners that will enable passengers to take up to two litres of liquid as part of hand luggage allowance.
The new tech was supposed to be in place for this summer but could be delayed by up to a year.
Prestwick Airport said in a statement today that "all passengers should continue to follow the 100ml rule and remove large electricals from their bags."
Edinburgh Airport is one of the flight hubs set to install new scanners but also said the 100ml rule will remain in place for the time being.
Taking to social media, the airport said: "This is a welcome announcement that will help provide clarity for passengers travelling through Edinburgh Airport this summer.
"Although work is currently ongoing to install the new scanners and a number will be in place in the coming weeks and months, passengers should continue to follow the 100ml rules and remove large electricals from their bags until we announce otherwise. Following the already known and rehearsed rules will allow everyone to move through the security process as quickly and safely as possible."

A church clock that has sat in darkness for almost two years has been returned to the light thanks to a community campaign Bathgate's High Church clock will be lit up once again after an investigation by parishioners and the intervention of local Labour councillor Harry Cartmill. The town clock in the tower of the High Church had been in darkness for around 18 months until the councillor convinced the council to install new lighting at a cost of almost £1,000. The clock was lit up just before Easter, in time for the merger of St John's Church in Mid Street with the High Church in Gideon Street. It will now be known as Bathgate Parish Church. Councillor Cartmill told the Local Democracy Reporting Service it was a good news story for Easter.
