We’ll be seeing more of Powell in the final season of S.W.A.T. Anna Enger Ritch, who has heavily recurred as the character since Season 5, has been promoted to series regular for the 7th and final season, Deadline has confirmed.
In the season 7 premiere, which airs February 16, the team heads to Mexico to escort a fugitive back to the States when things go awry and Hondo (Shemar Moore) has to save an old witness tied to the case.
Inspired by the television series and the feature film, S.W.A.T. stars Moore as a former Marine and locally born and raised S.W.A.T. sergeant tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. Torn between loyalty to where he was raised and allegiance to his brothers in blue, Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson strives to bridge the divide between his two worlds.
Alex Russell, Jay Harrington, Kenny Johnson, David Lim, Patrick St. Esprit and Rochelle Aytes also star. Shawn Ryan, Justin Lin, Neal Moritz, Marney Hochman, Pavun Shetty, Billy Gierhart, Andy Dettman and Paul Bernard executive produce.
Ritch’s other TV credits include Walker, NCIS: New Orleans and Chicago Med, among others.
Deadline’s sister site TVLine was first to report the news.
