A pair of runaway porcupines were found roaming around a Scots housing estate after escaping from their farm home two miles away.
Locals were left baffled after spotting the unusual visitors in Heathhall, Dumfries, on Saturday morning.
Resident Keith Higham was left in "utter disbelief" as he snapped a picture of the spiky wanderers as they explored gardens in the MacDonald Loaning area.
The alarm was raised with workers at the nearby Dalscone Farm who raced to collect the naughty duo.
It’s now been revealed that they managed to rip a steel door off their enclosure on Friday night before going on an adventure.
In a Facebook video of the porcupines, farmer Ben Best explained: “We did break the internet around Dumfries. There were so many messages on Facebook pages in the area. These guys were moved to our small animal experience earlier.
“They were investigating their new area, testing out its capabilities. They snapped the steel off their door, pulled it off and took off. They’re extremely strong. You’d never think it but they are seriously strong.

“The body isn’t actually that big - the spikes make them look way bigger than what they actually are. They’ve got a huge, big pen but they got out. They ended up around two miles away in Heathhall in someone’s garden.
“If you read up on porcupines, they don’t really leave where they stay very often. They normally stay around 100m around their home so they were really going for it.
“We were so stressed trying to find them all around the farm until we got a phone call saying someone had found two porcupines in their garden. We went down to get them and managed to get them into
