A Glasgow man is set to walk from his home to Inverness in the hope of raising as much money as possible for Cancer Research.
Dave McKellar will leave his house in Robroyston on May 13 with the goal of finishing the almost 200 mile journey in just 10 days.
The 39-year-old will make his way to Milngavie before taking on the West Highland Way to Fort William. From there, he will continue on to Scotland's most northerly city.
Dave's love for walking started during lockdown as millions of people across the country were told isolate from others. Now he hopes he can use his passion for good.
The Robroyston man told Glasgow Live: "It really started for me in lockdown. My work was closed for months and the only thing we could do was go out for our daily exercise.
"I really got into walking. I started to walk around the local estate and I'd slowly walk a wee bit further each time.
"By the time I was back at work I was walking miles and miles. It has made a huge difference to my physical appearance and it really helped me through lockdown. I've always wanted use the benefit I had from walking in a positive way and give back.
"A couple of people very close to me have been impacted by cancer so I decided this year I wanted to do something to raise money for cancer research."
The 39-year-old believes the simple pass time has completely changed his life for the better. The keen walker has noticed huge changes in himself ever since he took up the hobby.
