Roy Keane has praised Manchester United midfield prodigy Kobbie Mainoo for his performance levels since breaking into first-team at Old Trafford following Sunday's 2-2 draw with Liverpool.
The 18-year-old continued his fine breakthrough season in Erik ten Hag's side with a brilliant goal against United's fierce rivals. Mainoo received the ball on the turn and curled in a beauty past Caoimhin Kelleher.
His strike was cancelled out by Mohamed Salah in the final 10 minutes for Liverpool to leave United 11 points off Aston Villa in the Champions League places. Ten Hag's side do have a game in hand over Villa but time is running out.

He added: "Unbelievable feeling [his goal], first professional goal at Old Trafford and to do it in this fixture is also amazing. At the end of the day, we don’t walk away with the three points so I can’t be too happy."
Mainoo's words were met with heavy praise from Keane, who was a key figure in United's midfield for years. Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: "It’s a tough game for him, obviously he’s done well. It’s a very good Liverpool team. He’s still learning, still not there with the set pieces but he’s doing better.
"Scored one wonderful goal and it’s just now about how he copes with the expectations he’s had over the last few months with playing for England.
