Roy Keane 'missed the point' after his scathing comments regarding Erling Haaland’s performance against Arsenal on Easter Sunday.
Manchester City were shut out by a resilient Arsenal side in the goalless draw. It was the first time City had failed to score at home for the first time in 57 games at the Etihad.
Keane branded Haaland's hold up play akin to a 'League Two' player. On Sky Sports, he said: “The levels of his general play were so poor, not just today. I think his laying stuff off, headers, whatever it might be - in front of goal he’s the best in the world - but his general play - for such a player it is so poor.”

His 18 league goals in 24 top flight appearances this season is still an impressive return. Our Talking City podcast hosts have discussed Keane's controversial comments.
There was loads said about Erling Haaland, and I don’t want to berate Roy Keane. First off in front of goal, he’s been the best player in the world for a while and that is so much of his game, but he has acceleration, pace, technique, and awareness too.
Haaland is off the scale on all these things. Funnily enough, I feel like his performances have actually been better with his link up play and worse with his finishing. If Haaland had taken some of the chances this term that he would have done last, they would have been better off than where they are.
He has five assists this season, which is pretty good. In the Premier League he is getting an assist twice as quickly as Roy Keane did. Criticism of Haaland is fine but it completely misses the point.
Not to be a fully paid-up
