Rita Ora appears in Manchester as she says she ‘relates to’ Beckham documentary

Pop superstar Rita Ora visited Manchester to take part in a keynote discussion as part of the city’s first ever music conference.
Beyond the Music is running at venues across the city this week and has been described by founder Oli Wilson, son of Mancunian music legend Tony Wilson, as a ‘global forum and live music festival’ where those in the music industry come together to build the future.
Rita appeared at Manchester Central on Thursday (October 12) alongside Sarah Stennet, founder of talent and entertainment agency FAE grp. The singer, who still holds the record for the most top ten singles by a female artist in the UK, talked about taking ownership of her music, working with Prince and what she’s learned from watching David Beckham’s recent Netflix documentary.

Rita, who recently released her third album You & I, began working with talent manager Sarah more than a decade ago when she was just 17 as she was preparing to put her name forward to represent the UK at Eurovision.
Whilst those plans never came to be, the pair have continued to work together and has seen Rita star in 50 Shades of Grey, appear as a judge on The Masked Singer and front numerous make-up and fashion campaigns over the years.
