David Beckham has told the Glazers to make a decision about the takeover process at Manchester United so stability can be restored, allowing the club to return to being one of the best teams in the world.
Beckham - who had an autobiographical documentary released this week - admitted he had a preference as to who should take over the club but refused to reveal whether it was Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani - whose £5billion bid remains on the table - or Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Beckham backs Erik ten Hag despite the manager’s poor start to the season, which has been lightened by Saturday’s 2-1 Premier League win over Brentford. The 48-year-old believes the takeover saga is not helping matters and has called for clarity from the current owners.

“I think he’s [Ten Hag] a good coach,” Beckham told Sky Sports. "It is a difficult time at the moment, but there’s a lot of noise around the club at the moment so it can’t be easy for him.
“We all want that noise to go away, we all want a decision to be made for the club, for the fans, for the players and for the manager as well because we are one of, if not the, biggest club in the world. We want stability and I think that’s the most important thing.
“We all have our own favourites of who we feel needs to run the club and look after the club and take the club back to where it belongs but in our eyes, in the fans' eyes, we’re number one and we want to be back at the top. I believe I know the right people to do that.”
