Ridley Scott in Talks to Direct Bee Gees Film at Paramount

Matt Donnelly Senior Film Writer Paramount Pictures has boarded the new horror film “Vicious,” led by Dakota Fanning and directed by Bryan Bertino. Fanning will star as a young woman who is left a strange present by a late-night visitor, and quickly realizes she is fighting for her life after slipping down a disturbing rabbit hole contained inside the gift.

Dan Lin has been appointed as Netflix’s new head of film. He’ll replace Scott Stuber, who previously announced he’d be stepping down from the streaming behemoth in March. Lin’s name had been in the mix — along with recently departed Disney executive Sean Bailey, former Universal chief Stacey Snider and others — since the top film job opened in January.

Ridley Scott is reportedly in talks to helm an upcoming biopic based on the Bee Gees.According to a report from Deadline Hollywood, anonymous sources close to to the project told the outlet that Scott is currently in the negotiations phase with Paramount Pictures to lead its upcoming biopic based on the group.The film, which is currently untitled, has yet to receive a release date or cast. Scott will also supposedly co-produce the film alongside Graham King for GK Films, Stacey Snider and Michael Pruss for Scott Free.
