EXCLUSIVE: Even after landing one of the highly-coveted roles in Marvel’s new Fantastic Four movie, Joseph Quinn isn’t done setting up a very robust film slate as sources tell Deadline he is in talks to join A24’s new untitled war pic that Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland are co-directing. Charles Melton is also on board to star.
A24 had no comment.
The project is the second collaboration for Garland and Mendoza, who served as the military supervisor for Garland’s latest film Civil War set for release April 12. Besides co-directing, the pair also co-wrote the script.
Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich of DNA and Peter Rice will produce. A24 will handle the global release of the film. As with any Garland project, details behind what the film is about are being shrouded in secrecy.
Quinn’s star has been on the rise following his scene stealing role as Eddie Munson in the most recent season of Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things. Since he has been on a role landing parts in major franchises and tentoples with the most recent score being his biggest as he was tapped to play Johnny Storm in Marvel’s Fantastic Four pic. That film will shoot later this year and opened a door for Quinn to Mendoza and Garland’s project allowing him to show his acting range before jumping into another tentople.
Besides a packed shooting schedule, Quinn also a big year in theaters with not one but two tentpoles set to bow this year. First up, is A Quiet Place: Day One, the first spin-off in the popular franchise that is set to bow this June. Quinn co-stars opposite Lupita Nyong’o and early buzz has Paramount on this project as well as Quinn’s performance. Zack Sharf Digital News Director Kirsten Dunst said in a new interview with Marie Claire that she’s finally at a stage in her career where she no longer feels “nervous” speaking her mind, adding: “I feel at home sharing everything on set now.” It’s a far cry from the version of Dunst who was on the “Spider-Man” set decades ago. As a young actor, Dunst didn’t have the confidence to speak up when things bothered her. Case in point: Being repeatedly called a “girly-girl” on the “Spider-Man” set.
Ariana Grande has an seventh album on the way titled “Eternal Sunshine,” set to release on March 8, 2024. While fans eagerly await her new music, some of her studio sessions were leaked last year, including a song titled “Fantasize,” which quickly went viral on TikTok.“Fantasize” and the sessions were leaked on June 25, 2023, along with another unreleased song titled “Gloss.” Grande commented on a TikTok with the song at the time, saying, “wrote this for a comedy sketch about a girl group.” The artist also took steps to have the song removed, although it quickly resurfaced.Speaking to the Zach Sang Show, Grande reflected on the frustrating experience.
Academy Awards are right around the corner. The event will be hosted on March 10th, with the first round of presenters being announced. The line up has a mixture of actors that include Zendaya and Lupita Nyong’o.
Netflix is reportedly looking to beef up its cast for the second of its hit series, Beef.According to a report from Deadline Hollywood, series creator Lee Sung Jin hopes to rope in several big names to play feuding couples for the second season of Beef.Per Deadline Hollywood, Lee is currently eyeing A-listers Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway – who starred together in the 2010 rom-com Love & Other Drugs and in 2005’s Brokeback Mountain – as one couple.Also being eyed to star as the second couple are Priscilla standout Cailee Spaeny and May December and Riverdale star Charles Melton. According to Deadline, “no deals are in place” at the moment and that Netflix and A24 are “ready to get the second season into production by late summer or fall.”In August 2023, Lee Sung Jin said he was “really open” to the idea of a second season.

And the big pics keep on comin’ to SXSW. This afternoon the festival made it known that the Alex Garland directed Civil War from A24 is making its world premiere on March 14 at the Paramount Theater in Austin, TX. This ahead of the movie’s wide release on April 12.

EXCLUSIVE: With their Bob Marley movie, One Love, opening this weekend, Paramount Pictures is now moving fast on another high profile biopic on popular music group, looking to have found an A-list director to lead the project. While a deal isn’t done, sources tell Deadline that Ridley Scott is in negotiations to direct the untitled Bee Gees movie for Paramount.
