Queen's aides keeping close eye on royal during Jubilee amid 'mobility problems'

The Queen was pictured smiling as she attended a royal engagement without a walking stick, following her recent mobility issues. Her Majesty, 96, has recently been pictured at several appearances using a walking aid - including at the Order of the Garter service with Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall last week.

Royal Ascot kicked off on Tuesday, but the Queen wasn’t in attendance.

Queen Elizabeth had personal requests when it came to her Platinum Jubilee Concert. Alicia Keys, who performed at Saturday’s Platinum Party at the Palace, revealed in an Instagram post that the 96-year-old monarch requested the songs she sung at the royal-studded event.

Rock legend Brian May hoped his weekend performance received a better royal reception than his iconic Buckingham Palace rooftop performance 20 years ago. The guitarist and co-founder of band Queen claimed he went away from his 2002 performance thinking the monarch “wasn’t very impressed”. Appearing on The One Show, May told hosts Alex Jones and Rylan Clark-Neal he was unsure what the Queen thought of his performance at her Golden Jubilee.

Ouch. Prince Harry and Prince William barely acknowledged each other at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The brothers reunited after Harry returned to England for the 70th anniversary of their grandmother’s service.

Queen Elizabeth II will not attend the Service of Thanksgiving due to "some discomfort." Buckingham Palace previously shared that the queen’s attendance at events throughout the Platinum Jubilee weekend will likely only be confirmed on "the day itself." "The Queen greatly enjoyed today’s Birthday Parade and Flypast but did experience some discomfort," a statement from Buckingham Palace said. "Taking into account the journey and activity required to participate in tomorrow’s National Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, Her Majesty with great reluctance has concluded that she will not attend." Queen Elizabeth will still attend the beacon lighting set to occur Thursday night.

Prince Andrew has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss Queen Elizabeth II’s Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving.
