Queen Elizabeth II has been keeping a low profile after facing a series of health setbacks in the past few months, including testing positive for COVID, the 95-year-old British monarch stepped out this week for an official engagement at Windsor Castle. Her Majesty viewed a selection of artifacts from Halcyon Days, commemorating the luxury brand's 70th anniversary at the White Drawing Room in Windsor Castle. While wearing a white flower-printed dress, black shoes, and holding a walking stick, the queen studied the hand-decorated archive enamelware from the 1950s to present day. She also watched demonstrations of traditional methods of enamel decoration and gilding by hand from master artisans Susan Shakespeare and Susan Jones. While Queen Elizabeth has been cutting her duties and appearances back significantly in recent months, it's still a big year for her.

On the climax of Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s visit to Jamaica as part of Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee, the British royals dipped into the past. Prince William, 39, and Kate, 40, attended a special military parade for service members who recently completed the Caribbean Military Academy’s Officer Training Program. Prince William and Kate dressed in white for the occasion, with the Duke of Cambridge donning his formal military uniform. Together, they stood on the back of a dark green open-top Land Rover – the spitting image of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip when they visited Kingston, Jamaica, in November 1953.

Amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine, it is reported that the Queen's private estate is looking to provide homes and jobs to Ukrainian refugees.The move comes after a rural estate in Scotland offered accommodation and employment to those fleeing Ukraine, with Prince Charles also thinking of helping at his Dumfries House estate in Ayrshire. Scottish Land & Estates (SLE) has said that over 40 estates have volunteered to help those fleeing the horrors of war and coming to Scotland.
